Tell us about yourself.
Hi, my name is Julia.
I was born in Russia and moved to the USA in 2015. In Russia (it was still the USSR when I grew up) in our school program we had a skills class. Boys learned woodcrafting, electrical things, repairing, etc. And girls had cooking lessons, learned how to sew, knit and do more different crafts. So, any girl who went to Soviet school learned how to sew but not so many are using it in their life nowadays. Since I am a mom of little toddler and spend a lot of time at home I have had a desire to create something.
What kind of things do you enjoy making?
I create a fabric gifts and accessories - bookmarks, bookweights, eye-pillows, coffee cup cozies and others.
What advice do you have for other creators?

Our area—Staunton and the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia—is very beautiful and inspiring. A great balance of gorgeous nature and historic architecture gives you visual and emotional inspiration to create beautiful things.
